Don't sit on the sidelines and watch the kids play, jump in the water and cause a splash. The children love it when their parents swim and play with them. Get a beach ball game going in the pool, this is a lot of fun, as well as a good way to tone your arms. Another fun activity in the pool is to have swim races with the kids. You don't have to be a pro-swimmer to do this. You can swim under water, freestyle or swim on your back. The great thing about playing with your kids is they will always plea, let's do it again. This can be an activity that will keep you busy easily for two hours.
Walking is great exercise, but how do we make it fun for the kids? Buy a book the helps identify the trees, plants or birds in your local area. Find a book that has pictures and descriptions that are easy for the kids to understand. Most cities and towns have parks or walking trails that are filled with wildlife. Gardening can have a powerful effect on children. Learning about gardening promotes interest in the environment and eating healthy foods. The children will have a lot of fun deciding which plants or flowers to plant in the garden. It may seem like tough work, but getting the soil prepared for planting is part of the fun. This is a big project and will allow you a chance to educate your children how to build and care for the garden and allow you to spend quality time with them.
